PathwAIse is a personal journal and reflection app. This page explains what we collect, why, where it's stored, and how to delete it — the same disclosure the app itself shows you before asking for camera or microphone access.

Camera and microphone access are each requested and tracked separately, and enforced on our servers before any photo or recording is stored — not just checked once by the app. You can review and revoke either at any time in Settings.
Ambient mode is a separate, off-by-default setting that lets the app listen for a wake word ("Hey wAIse") and respond to a physical gesture (like a shake) to open the voice or camera flow hands-free. It has its own consent toggle — turning on camera or microphone access never turns this on, and turning this on never turns on camera/microphone access for one-shot capture.
While Ambient mode is on, the app shows a persistent on-screen indicator the entire time — there is no way for it to listen or watch without that indicator visible. Listening for the wake word and detecting a gesture happen on your device and are never uploaded on their own; nothing is saved just from Ambient mode noticing a wake word or gesture — it only opens the voice/camera flow, which still requires you to explicitly tap to capture before anything is stored. Turning Ambient mode off in Settings stops all of this immediately.
Your data is stored in PathwAIse's cloud backend, scoped to your account. Nothing is shared across accounts. Photos and voice notes are stored as opaque files tied to the journal entry you attached them to.
Daily summaries, coach responses, and weekly insights are generated from your own recent entries using Claude (Anthropic). Your entries are sent to Anthropic's API to generate that response and are not used to train Anthropic's models under our usage terms.
Purchases are handled by the app store (Google Play, Samsung Galaxy Store, or Apple App Store) and RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment card details — only whether your subscription is active.
You can export a complete copy of your data or delete your account entirely from Settings at any time. Deleting your account removes your entries, media, summaries, insights, coach history, consent records, and entitlement — permanently, with no recovery period.
